Effective Date: March 31, 2026
treefort ("we," "us," or "our") operates a parent-controlled private Minecraft play network accessible through the treefort mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our Service.
We are committed to protecting your family's privacy. Our Service is designed so that all data is collected from parents and legal guardians, not from children.
We collect information directly from parents and legal guardians who create accounts on treefort. We do not collect personal information directly from children.
Parent Account Information:
Child Profile Information (provided by the parent):
Service Data:
We use the information we collect to:
treefort uses Microsoft OAuth solely to verify ownership of a child's Minecraft account. We request the minimum permissions necessary to confirm the Minecraft identity (username and UUID) associated with a Microsoft account. We do not access, store, or use any other data from the Microsoft account.
All in-game chat messages sent on the treefort network are logged and stored. These chat logs are provided to connected parents as a transparency tool so they can review their children's in-game conversations. Chat logs are not shared outside the connected families and are not used for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than parental oversight and service operation.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising or behavioral tracking.
We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
Subscriptions to treefort are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card information. All payment processing is handled directly by Apple in accordance with their privacy policy and terms of service.
We store device push notification tokens solely for the purpose of delivering service-related notifications, such as connection requests, play session reminders, and account alerts. These tokens are not used for marketing or advertising.
Your data is stored on Supabase cloud infrastructure. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Parents may request deletion of their account and all associated data at any time by emailing families@jointreefort.com. Upon receiving a verified deletion request, we will delete your account data, including child profiles, connection records, and chat logs, within 30 days.
treefort is designed so that all personal information is collected from parents and legal guardians, not directly from children. Parents provide child profile information and manage all settings on behalf of their children. Children interact with the Minecraft server using their existing Minecraft accounts; they do not create accounts on treefort or provide personal information to us directly.
Per the Federal Trade Commission's COPPA FAQ #8, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies to the online collection of personal information from children under 13. Because treefort collects information from parents rather than from children, COPPA's notice and consent requirements do not apply in the traditional sense. Nonetheless, we follow COPPA best practices and are committed to protecting children's privacy in every aspect of our Service.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information directly from a child, please contact us immediately at families@jointreefort.com, and we will promptly delete the information.
treefort does not display advertisements. We do not use third-party tracking, analytics cookies, or behavioral advertising technologies. We do not build profiles on children or parents for marketing purposes.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the app and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
